Joseph Zammit Maempel

Bio

Joseph works principally in Civil and Commercial matters with Media Law being his field of specialisation. He was also actively involved in several Government privatisations. He has served as Director of MIMCOL and Malta Government Investments Ltd. from 1990 to 1993,Malta Development Corporation from 1993 to 1996 and Air Malta plc. from 1999 to 2003.

Joseph has also occupied the post of Chairman in various Boards and Committees including the Purchasing and Tendering Committee, Air Maltaplc, the Healthcare Professions Appeals Board, the Controlled Companies (Procedure for Liquidation) Appeals Board, the Tenders & Procurement Committee, the Malta Tourist Authority and the Lotteries & Gaming Authority. Between 1998 and 2003, he was a member of Faculty Board of Law, University of Malta.

Between 1987 and 1996, he served as Commissioner for Justice.

Education & Court Admissions

Joseph graduated as a Doctor of Laws from the University of Malta in 1969 and called to the Bar in January 1970.
