Aleandro joined GVZH Advocates in 2018. His main areas of focus are Maritime Law and Aviation Law. He currently forms part of the Transport team within the firm assisting clients on matters concerning ship registration, AOC & AOL applications, ownership structures, VAT and importation.
Education & Court Admissions
Having read his Law degree at the University of Malta, he was conferred a Bachelor of Law graduate in 2018, after having submitted his thesis entitled ‘Conflict of Law Issues in the Ranking of Maritime Creditors – A Comparative Analysis’ and a Master of Advocacy degree in 2019.
Aleandro spent a semester furthering his studies in Southampton, as part of the Erasmus Programme, where he read Admiralty Law, Commercial Conflict of Laws and International Litigation at the University of Southampton.
He then read an LLM in International Shipping Law at Queen Mary University of London and graduated with distinction in October 2020 after defending his dissertation entitled “The Legal Implications of Unmanned Vessels at Sea with particular focus on the SOLAS Convention.” Whilst in London, he was selected to present his dissertation as Queen Mary University of London’s representative at the highly prestigious Maritime Masters 2020.
Aleandro speaks English and Maltese. He also has a good understanding of Italian and French.
