Marina Bernane

Bio

In 2018, in her position as Legal Trainee, Marina has successfully completed an ERASMUS+ Traineeship Programme with GVZH Advocates in the unit of Corporate and Trusts department.

Marina joined GVZH on a full-time basis in 2021, initially as part of the organisation’s Compliance department. After several years serving as an AML/CFT & Compliance Administrator, Marina transitioned to the Private Clients department, where she now holds the position of Private Clients Executive.

In her current role, Marina focuses on assisting High-Net-Worth Individuals with relocating to Malta. She co-ordinates clients’ legal and tax queries across various practice groups, guides them through different residence programs; and assists with obtaining permits allowing clients to reside/work/study in Malta.

Education

Marina is in her final stage of obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in Law and Business from the Riga Graduate School of Law.

In 2017, Marina participated in the ERASMUS Exchange Programme where she spent a semester at the ‘University of Malta’, Msida, Malta. During this time Marina focused on Commercial Law, International Criminal Law, Taxation, Private International Law and Public Finance Law.

Whilst at the Riga Graduate School of Law, Marina was a member of the SA RGSL (the Student Association of the Riga Graduate School of Law).

Languages

Marina is fluent in English, Russian, and Latvian.
