Double Taxation Treaty between Malta and Ukraine

Malta and Ukraine have signed a double taxation treaty during the recent visit which the Maltese Prime Minister paid in Kiev, Ukraine.

This is the latest of the double taxation treaties which Malta currently has in place with over 60 countries, including countries from the European Union, the European Economic Area and the rest of the world.

In cases where double taxation relief is granted, the Maltese tax resident receiving income from abroad on which tax has already been levied (abroad) may claim a credit for such foreign tax provided that the credit cannot exceed the Maltese tax amount (subject to certain conditions being satisfied).
