Double taxation agreement between Malta and Serbia

15th September 2009 – Following the visit of Serbian Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremi, Malta signs double taxation agreement with Serbia.

The agreement signed by Finance Minister Tonio Fenech on behalf of Malta, is an important step to strengthen trade relations between the two countries. In 2008, total trade between the 2 countries was around €1.2 million. Imports are mainly made up of cereals and printed -materials, while exports include organic chemicals, pharmaceuticals and clothing. Around 2,000-3,000 Serbian nationals currently reside in Malta.
The exchange of trade delegations could be organised to enhance trade relations between the 2 countries, and Serbian companies are encouraged to invest in Malta.
