Bio

Erika Criscione is a lawyer at GVZH Advocates within the Data Protection, Technology and Regulatory department. She advises clients on GDPR and wider data protection matters, with a particular focus on complex regulatory frameworks and cross-border data flows. Erika also acts as outsourced Data Protection Officer to a number of international organisations, overseeing compliance programmes across multiple jurisdictions.

In addition, she advises clients on cybersecurity matters, including NIS 2, with a focus on regulatory compliance and broader governance obligations. She also supports technology-driven businesses, including digital platforms and online service providers, on legal and regulatory issues relating to e-commerce and consumer protection.

Erika has an international academic and professional background, having gained experience across several European jurisdictions through roles with international law firms and multinational companies.

Education & Court Admissions

Erika holds a Master’s Degree in Law from Alma Mater Studiorum – University of Bologna, Italy. Afterward, she passed the bar exam and became a qualified lawyer. Erika further developed her expertise in privacy, data protection and cyber security with a Master in Data Protection and EU Data Governance at the University of Milan, a Diploma in Data Protection & Cyber Security from TopLegal Italian Academy and a Professional Certificate in GDPR Administration from the National University of Ireland.
