Cathy Farrugia

Bio

Cathy joined GVZH in May 2024 as an AML/Compliance Executive. She started her career in the hotel industry with work experience in various hotel chains, such as Albergo Quirinale in Rome, Hilton on Park Lane in London, Steigenberger in Germany (training) and Corinthia Group in Malta.

Cathy then focused more on the financial sector and spent over six years in one of the Big Four accounting companies where she held various roles, to include Office Manager.
Cathy provided Public Relations services to various clients for many years, focusing on three main sectors, namely Finance, Culture and Healthcare.

After being allocated the responsibility for the AML / CFT and Compliance function in a particular entity, she recognised this as being a new challenge and decided to focus on this role. For the past few years, Cathy has held positions where she was an integral part of Regulatory / Compliance Team.

Education

A.C.C.A Level One (when there were three levels);

B.A. Hons in Management – specialising in Marketing;

Diploma in Tourism Management; Diploma in AML/CFT.
