Jeanelle Cachia

Bio

Jeanelle focuses on company law practice and regularly assists and advises local and international clients in corporate M&A, corporate financing, and capital markets matters in relation to acquisitions. She has been actively involved in the drafting and negotiation of complex share transfers, mergers and acquisitions, de-listing of companies, and a variety of international commercial transactions. Jeanelle is regularly involved in financing transactions, having represented both lenders and borrowers, and has advised on various security arrangements.   

Eductation & Court Admissions

Jeanelle was called to the bar in 2012 following completion of the law course at the University of Malta in 2011. During her final year of studies, Jeanelle studied European Judicial Systems and Anglo-American Company Law at the Universita` degli studi Roma Tre, Rome, Italy, as part of the ERASMUS Direct Exchange Programme. In furtherance of her studies Jeanelle read for a Masters in Financial Services at the University of Malta and was awarded the degree in December 2015.

Jeanelle is fluent in English, Italian and Maltese.

Assisted, advised, and represented the Purchaser in an acquisition of a Maltese tech company listed on the Malta Stock Exchange.

Assisted, advised, and represented a local Purchaser operating within the hospitality industry, in the acquisition of 50% equity in a local entity also operating with the hospitality industry.

Assisted, advised, and represented an international investment bank in connection with the accession to a Senior Facilities Agreement, including amended and restated versions thereof, by local entities forming part of international group of companies, operating within the fund industry, and with the negotiation and completion of a security package granted by the local entities qua guarantors, including attendance to all CPs and Maltese law formalities.
