3rd September, 2009 – A draft legislation from the Transport Ministry was published in order to regulate the registration of aircraft in Malta. The proposed legislation aims to lead to an increase in the number of registered aircraft in the country.

Following extensive stakeholder consultation which took place earlier in the year, the draft legislation mentions the set up of a National Aircraft Register which would be maintained by the director general responsible for civil aviation.

The general public and interested intermediaries are invited to submit their comments and reactions by 12.00hrs on September 28 to info.mitc@gov.mt .
