In anticipation of the coming into force of the GDPR, the MGA, in consultation with the Office of the Information and Data Protection Commissioner (“IDPC”) has issued a guidance document which intends to provide B2C licensees with guidance on the processing of personal data carried out throughout the course of their gaming service operations.

These guidelines are considered to be a living document and will be further developed over time as practical issues arise with the effective implementation of the GDPR. They are to be read in parallel with legal requirements imposed on operators by virtue of Maltese gaming laws and are without prejudice to such legislation. The MGA has also stated that such guidelines and the interpretations contained therein are without prejudice to any decision which the Commissioner may take in relation to complaints and, or to any other specific data protection issue.

GVZH Advocates urges operators to access the guidelines, here, in order to ensure that such are operating in compliance with the GDPR. For further information about how GVZH Advocates can help you with yourany GDPR queries / business requirements, kindly contact us on entertainment@gvzh.mt.
