GVZH Advocates acts for Apax France and Fortino Capital in their acquisition of Malta’s leading Telcoms quad-player Melita plc

On the 8th December the sale of Melita plc (“Melita”) by GMT Communications Partners (“GMT”) and a consortium led by M/C Partners-led to France-based Apax Partners and Fortino Capital was announced. The deal is subject to regulatory approvals from the relevant regulatory authorities in Malta.

Melita is Malta’s leading converged telecommunications operator, with more than 110,000 unique subscribers. The company offers pay-TV, broadband, fixed telephony, mobile and B2B services.

GVZH Advocates (formerly CSB Advocates) worked with TAJ Societe d’Avocats in Paris on the legal due diligence process, and provided legal advice on the transaction together with Weil, Gotshal & Manges in Paris. Messier Maris & Associés, a Paris-based investment bank, also advised Apax Partners and Fortino Capital on the transaction.
