Katia Cachia

Katia forms part of the firm’s corporate department and assists local and international clients in corporate matters. She often assists in international commercial and financial transactions, mergers and acquisitions and the drafting and negotiation of corporate related matters.

Her main expertise lies within the reviewing and drafting contractual documentation, incorporation of Maltese companies, their corporate requirements and their general maintenance, the setting up of trusts and foundations and their administration, compliance related matters and assists in the servicing of financial institutions. Katia is responsible for handling much of the Firm’s trusts and foundation work and she has advised on various trust and foundation structures, identifying solutions to accommodate specific client requirements.


Katia read for her Law degree at the University of Malta and was conferred a Bachelor of Laws with European Studies in 2011, a Diploma of Notary Public in 2012, and a Doctorate of Laws in 2014, after having presented her thesis entitled ‘Jurisdiction on the High Seas: ‘An Analysis of Flag State Exclusivity’ and having successfully completed an ERASMUS programme at Tor Vergata University in Rome, Italy in the same year. 

After having successfully completed the IFSP Foundation Certificate, Katia has obtained her IFSP Foundation Certificate in Trusts Law and Management in 2016. She then went on to complete and obtain the Malta Institute of Taxation Foundation Certificate in 2017.


Katia speaks fluent English and Maltese and has a basic knowledge of Italian.
