Emma forms part of the Corporate and M&A, Banking and Finance and Capital Markets team within GVZH.
EDUCATION AND COURT ADMISSIONS
Emma was awarded her warrant to practice as an Advocate before the Courts in Malta.
Having read her Law degree at the University of Malta she was conferred a Bachelor of Laws degree in 2019 after submitting her Dissertation entitled ’Smart Contracts: Legal Regulation in a Decentralised Environment.’ Subsequently, she was awarded a Master of Advocacy in 2020.
She further pursued her studies in London at University College London (UCL) through a Master of Laws in International Banking and Finance Law graduating with Distinction in 2021 in the areas of ‘Legal Aspects of International Finance’, ‘Corporate Finance’ and ‘Comparative Corporate Governance’ after having presented her Research Essay entitled ‘Small Jurisdictions in Cross-Border Financial Services Regulatory Competition: Re-Orienting Focus Beyond Tax to the Broader Regulatory Framework with Lessons Learnt from the Maltese Scenario.’
In 2017, Emma participated in the Erasmus Exchange Programme where she spent a semester at the ‘Universita’ Degli Studi Roma Tre’, Rome, Italy. During this time Emma focused on Anglo-American Company Law, State and Market in EU Law, International Humanitarian Law and Legal Protection of Cultural Heritage.
Whilst at the University of Malta, Emma was an elected member of the GHSL (Malta Law Students Society) executive committee.
Emma is fluent in English, Maltese and has a very good understanding of Italian.
